Hi everyone! I haven't been here in a very long time. Besides computer

issues, I felt out of my league here. Not anymore! I was given a brand

new entry level DSLR in Nov. (Sorry Steve......it's a Nikon! LOL)

D3100. I haven't put it down! I feel I have taken my photography

skills to an entirely new level and I want to climb higher. That is

why I am here for critiques on crop, comp, lighting, EVERYTHING....

from the incredible photographers on this site. Thanks in advance

everyone. Michelle

Having a solid background helps set the bird apart and eliminates possible distractions. You also used the rule of thirds effectively. How far away were you? The closer you can get and the less cropping you have to do will help reduce noise. You can set your camera on a tripod and use a remove shutter release if you have a spot these guys like to visit often.

Comp and cropping is always a challenge for me.  I was concerned the BG was too plain.... Hoping to get a new tripod AND a remote shutter release someday.
