Alas, the poor chipmunk is being chased out of his safe little chipmunk hole by the ruthless hunter.  The pair of eyes in the image's center conveys deadly intent, utter concentration, and terror on the part of anyone who beholds them.

IMHO, one of the main reasons this image is so powerful is the three-dimensional effect of your processing.  This helps to amplify the dark areas and to give the impact more of a foreboding atmosphere.

Aside from your photographic talent, you are becoming quite the storyteller.  Bravo!
