Mom Black Bear Having a Scratch

This mom black bear and her two cubs were walking alongside the road.

The cubs were too small to peek above the vegetation. Your thoughts,

Having seen this behavior presented in Cartoons by bears like Yogi & Boo Boo. I was never certain if it was something that they really did!

I've been known myself for getting a "scratch" against a Door Facing once in awhile!

Some good details and light considering how dense the area seems to be. Looks like you were pretty close. At least it would have been close enough for me! Seeing the Cubs in the shot would have been nice too but, I certainly would not have hung around for long.

Now if you can just catch them stealing a Picnic Basket!

Abnormally strong composition for a wildlife photo.  Good use of tone in the foreground bushes and tree trunk to set up the eye to go to the bear.  Very good lineup of the light gray back of the blurred tree branches in the background also pointing toward the subject.  This might be your once in a lifetime shot.
