In some ways this is a great combination.  However our eyes are trying to tell us who is the star of this show !  I would vote for the duck.  Great detail and colour showing of the plumage.  Personally I would have tried to tone down (eg blur) the background, because whilst it is really interesting, it competes.

Indeed there is some evident competition between the drab-toned duck and the vivid plants , i would agree to tone down the showy background some more to see its visual impact lessened substantially.
