dinab 0 Posted June 11, 2014 This artwork is inspired by the "Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli, great Italian painter of the Early Renaissance. Unlike Venus ofBotticelli, which is very romantic painting, the real world we live intoday is far from being romantic. This why this work is less romanticand more sarcastic. Instead of pastoral sea you'll find an image ofsea on dirty and peeled wall, instead of seashell - a manhole cover, instead of flowers - cigarette butts and alcohol bottles. It also hasmany other ironic and sarcastic elements which you are welcome to find Link to comment
dinab 0 Posted June 11, 2014 Rebirth of Venus - is a story of Venus, born in our reality of today. It's inspired by "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli, great Italian painter of the Early Renaissance. Unlike Venus of Botticelli, which is very romantic painting, the real world we live in today is far from being romantic. This why my digital painting is less romantic and more sarcastic. In this work instead of pastoral sea you'll find an image of sea on dirty and peeled wall, instead of seashell - a manhole cover, instead of flowers - cigarette butts and alcohol bottles. It also includes many other ironic and sarcastic elements which you are welcome to find... Collaboration project with the group of talented and creative avant-garde dancers Maria Kong.
