phillips 0 Posted June 3, 2014 Thanks for your viewing and comments. The majority of the time we were at the canyon air pollution and haze really compromised photographic opportunities (although I tried to use the haze in the B & W image I posted); we did have a few brief showers which greatly improved viewing conditions. Thanks again for your interest, Phil Link to comment
paul_enneking 0 Posted June 4, 2014 Phil, very nice image. The shadows from the clouds give it a real sense of depth to me. nicely done. Link to comment
phillips 0 Posted June 6, 2014 Thanks for viewing and comments. I went there with hopes of getting some great scenics and from a photography standpoint was pretty disappointed, This was one of my better efforts from around 400 images that I took. As other photographers have found out the haze and air pollution are common; the rain does have the effect of some clearing- so you grab the chances you have. Thanks again, Phil Link to comment
Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted July 1, 2015 One thing that I noticed about the Grand Canyon is that every hour of the day it looks different. As the day progresses it takes on a whole new look. This is an impressive shot, early morning or late evening, you have the cast of the long shadows and the canyon walls have a purple hue to them. Good work my friend Link to comment
phillips 0 Posted July 1, 2015 Thanks for your viewing and comment. I was somewhat disappointed with my photographic efforts on that trip. Afterwards, I looked at a book by Eliot Porter-wonderful images. The rub was, they were taken at the bottom of the canyon! Well maybe next trip. Thanks again, Phil Link to comment
