wildlife Cautious Yearling

The last of a group, this yearling was pretty cautious, then made a

break for it.

In my very limited experiences with Mountain Goats you were very fortunate and have excellent hunting skills to get this close!

I like your shot here with him on the slope and obviously on the move!

Very good lighting and handling of the white subject in the snow!

In my early teens, while living in central Montana my Dad & I both were sucessful in the "draw" to hunt Mountain Goats. For two weeks in the Bob Marshall Wilderness area we stalked these evasive white critters. Would spend all day working toward the ridge where we'd seen a heard to get within distance only to find when we got there, they would be on the next distant ridge watching us!

Did that for the entire two weeks and never bothered entering another "draw" the remainder of the years that we were in Montana!

Thank you, hunting mountain goats with a camera is a challenge and a blast. Oddly I have found the greatest success stalking from above.
