Wonderful image. I love the horizontal bands of clouds and the mountain ridge, mostly hidden in them. I could also imagine it as a black and white image and, maybe, cropped in a very wide landscape format.

I agree if this was done in B/W it would at a level of strength that would be hard to deny.  Color adds to the visual confusion removing that would allow people to see the strength in this shot for sure.  I do love the lighting, it is simple yet powerful in its own right.
