Playing Kids

Funny, I was just reading a comment by you on one of my old photos and thinking back to those days when we had a real community here on pn. Alas, I feel like the Last of the Mohicans or the Lone Ranger or something nowadays. The old gang has faded away like the ghost of Christmas past.. Anyway, it's a pleasure to see some new work from you, an excellent slice of life presented with your usual compositional aplomb.

Jack, great hearing from you after such a long absence. It's been quite a while and I can see that the people we liked sharing our thoughts with haven't logged in for ages. Have you had any news from Linda, Kent, Laurent or Jeff recently ? I can see that Markku, Drew and a few others are still posting but what about our other friends ? Where have they gone ?

About photography, I felt less motivated and thought I had less to say. Besides, my favorite camera broke down and I stayed without a decent one for quite a while until I made up my mind and purchased the used DSLR I've been using for about a month now. I must say I'm glad to have a camera in hands again.

Nice to hear from you. I've really missed the conversations we used to have here on pn. I often go back to previous folders from years back and re-read the exchanges I had with you and some of the other used-to-be-regulars on this site. It's the main reason I haven't deleted many of my pictures; I'd lose the comments. Laurent, Kent, Linda, and a lot of the other stalwarts are MIA. Jeff posts very occasionally but nowhere near as often as in the past. Drew is Drew, but you know his situation and the reason his comments are usually limited to !!! Even Fred G. is an infrequent contributor as of late although he has some new work up currently. Pnina suffered some kind of injury a while back and hasn't posted much lately. David Meyer, Amal, and Gordon Bowbrick now post their work mostly on Facebook which I regard as a titanic waste of time. You'll never see a comment like this one over there and I hate the Facebook/Twitter style chatter that passes for conversation nowadays. I'm glad to hear you got your hands on a camera again. I've really missed your pictures and your always intelligent views on things photographic and beyond. Take care and don't pull your disappearing act again! All the best, Jack
