Daniel's critique is thoughtful and well-expressed.  I am in total agreement with his comments.  

In addition, primarily two elements drew my attention to this image.  First, the shoe and sock - amazing detail and vivid colors.  Secondly, and more importantly, because of the water's shallow depth, the reflections have somewhat of a surreal appearance, as if they tell us not so much about the runner but more about water itself.

And I would be remiss if I didn't thank you for your viewing my abstract of the chess pieces and for your review.
