When this was originally submitted for critique & ratings it was suggested that more be cropped off the left side and closer to the Scissor-Tails long tail.

However, the more I looked at it from the original crop I decided to also take a bit from the right hand side of the frame also and it appears that it will still leave the body of the bird slightly off centered.

The original submission can be seen here:

Again, many thanks for your visits!

Jim,

your crop works and I think this is a better image than the original. Congratulations on where these guys hang out.  I see them in Texas but so far have been unable to photograph them.  Your shot is well focused and it shows well against that b/g.  I definitely need a 400mm lens, but alas that won't be happening anytime soon.  Well done on this one.

This is a resubmission:

I did some additional cropping as was suggested by some of the

Critiquer's from the original submission.

I don't know how to replace an image without losing all the previous

comments if that is possible. Nor do I know if it is appropriate. So,

there's a link in the comments to the original image.

Again, Thanks for taking the time to view, comment/critique rate and,

allowing me the opportunity to share!

Sincerely,

Jim j.

Oh Yes Jim I agree with Bill the crop works, more importantly what an interesting and beautiful bird. Great shot.

Agree, much more better on the crop.  I also like the monochromatic background, it showcases the bird's subtle colors...  Mike
