wolfgangarnold 142 Posted May 9, 2014 it's great how the light flows in from the right and guides my eyes to the group of dancers. The motion blur is 'dosed' perfectly - it allows just to recognize each dancer while the movement of the highlights merges the group into a new, abstract form. Link to comment
harlequin 0 Posted May 10, 2014 Beautiful not as an abstract and as a dance photo.Wonder full sense of motion great color. Well done! Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted May 10, 2014 Pnina, the art of the lighting! impressive result with fantastic play on exposure, skilful execution! Really like it! Congr. my 7! Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted May 13, 2014 A wonderful artistic expression of light and movement. They look sort of like the burning bush -- ablaze but not endangered or burning up. Just pure energy and vibrance... looking to the light... suggesting a macabre death light perhaps or otherworldliness Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted May 22, 2014 I wonder if it's a full abstract? Of course, since we know you and your work, we assume it's dancers, but I think even if I were seeing this and didn't know you created it, I'd think was dancers in motion. To me, this is the best kind of abstract, where you DO know what it is (so it is not full), but it goes so far beyond what it is. The hands reaching above their heads almost look like the tops of musical notes, so there is a strong sense of musicality here, likewise movement, and a great sense of rhythm in their position as they move. The lighting seems so focused on them and organic to their bodies and groupings. And the lighting has a presence and depth all its own. Very nice. Strong work, yet delicate as well. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 25, 2014 Drew, glad you liked it. Wolfgang, you have nicely expressed your observation . Charles, thanks for the word - movement. seyfi- thanks as well. Richard- thanks for your always very good feedback ! Amy,glad you have liked it as well. Donna,I liked your words of vibrance and energy, as this is as I saw it as well. Ruud glad you have enjoyed it., Fred, thanks for your thoughtfull ( instead of wide;-))impression, always a pleasure reading. The" full' abstract has had two points for titling it:- the first as it was after the"semi" one ...so it was appropreate as a continuation. The second- even though it was recognized as a dancers group , it still was an abstract,as you could not see the individual dancers.I really liked your impression of musical rythm and notes., as well as strong and delicat . Thanks for the two coments which were writen in" full" and not in "semi " ..! ' Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted May 27, 2014 A blending of the dance of light with the dance of people with the dance of life. I defer to Fred's comments for a more reasoned explanation for my attraction to this image. My best always, michael Link to comment
ray.koushik 0 Posted May 30, 2014 enjoyed the group dance ... wonderfully cast. compliments -koushikPS: the ingredients for jalebi is here: http://www.indianfoodforever.com/desserts/jalebi.html. the difficult part is to get the form, which has 2 and a half turns, traditionally. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 30, 2014 I must have missed this one during one of my periodic "vacations". The stage is suggested rather than defined by soft illumination from the left which also provides a sense of depth to the picture, and the dancers have been reduced to their movement signatures in light. It's a brilliant picture and captures the dance experience essentially. Link to comment

mark_q 0 Posted July 1, 2014 Wonderful blend of illuminated contours of the dancers kinda anchoring them to reality, and the smoothly running strokes of movement, which to my eyes expose the idea, the score of their performance. I know it takes some skill and talent to master such scene so well as here. Congratulations, and thank you for your supportive comments lately. Link to comment
