I can feel the atmosphere in the Christian house and the sensual dreaming of the young teenager girl opposing!

Great environmental arrangement, mood captured and sensuality of the subject exposed!

Why it is a question of dream and reality I don't know, especially don't get how it is a question!

Well done, dear Laura, awarded with seven!

Cheers

Dear Pierre, this time I have not written an introduction because I wanted to see what people would read in this scene.

You've hit the nail on the head! ... I've worked much the opposition between the perfect family in the painting at the wall ( mother and son), facing the bed where there is also another family, or less perfect people but more sensual , worldly , glued to the real world , feeling themselves with dreams and illusions and being unperfect. With uncensored freedom to dream.

The composition was at first a mother and a son on the bed, different to the holy family in the painting, to work the opposition... and you, dear Pierre, you've seen it!, Congratulations for having sharp eye and witty mind!.

I have called it : Am I Awake or Asleep, because I wanted to go even a little further and give a sense of freedom , if not freedom in reality just freedom in mind, freedom of thought. She begins to see stones that fly away from the Wall... she doesn't know whether she's awake or asleep. She dreams and it results that: time and her dreams become reality itself. So she can fly, can rise and escape. The stones of the wall start playing with her arm. I have to tell that I would go nowhere before eating the delicious breakfast jajaja

The woman's imagination is stronger and more powerful than the Christian home. She and her wishes will fly away , like the small stones that crawl. It is a symbol of freedom.

I was very touched when reading your comment , your so positive critics and thank you very much for your rating of 7 and for your encouragement and your visit as enjoyable as ever :)

Thanks for everything. Kindest regards, Laura M.

Laura , You have a talent for creating scenes and environments for images . This reminds me very much of an Old Master's painting . I like the way the lighting concentrates on you , keeping the rest of the image in semi darkness , a sort of twilight in keeping with the theme . I'm not sure about the " stars ? " , I don't think they help . Just one small detail I'm not sure about , there seems to be a white outline under your left foot but it may be my eyes ! I don't usually bother with ratings , but for this work of Art I will match Pierre's 7 ! Bill

Dear Bill, thanks for all that you say so good about this composition , about the scene.

It's true that I love dark environments, places in semi darkness, like the Old Masters paintings, this way was how people looked around at old time, at night, at dusk. Lit with candles, it was all dark corners, very different from electricity nowadays and this was reflected in paintings. They reflect their surroundins. That glimmer, those dark places catch my attention.

Regarding the line in the left foot, it's just an effect of the small size .jpg I've uploaded. In large size resolution, threre's no line. Must be an optical effect creating when reducing it. You could say I'm nearly a maniac of details.

Bill... thank you very much for your positive feedback, for appreciating this work, for your good score of 7, it's fantastic! makes me really glad!.

Heartfelt thanks for everything and I appreciate always your pleasant visit.

Kindest regards, Laura M.

Attracting Pierre and William with fascinating comments adds to the Spectacular creation of your work of art! To me you presentation means our collective ilusion that we all participate together at all times, Being both awake and sleep depending on your level of consicioness! Perhaps becouse of her Christian outbringing she has a deep disturbing conflict in giving herself pleasure.....mny interpretetions are possible. Take good care. keep posting and Congratulations for the honor of photo of the day! Warm regards.

Very simply, I agree with Pierre's observation. I'll only add I like the processing very much. This is much better when viewed in the larger version. Good work!

Hi Jorge!, thank you for your precious visit and your interesting comment on this photo; yes... your interpretations are posible, maybe she's a little disturbed fighting between her moral and her own physical needs... why not?. I always thought in a kind of levitation, sort of mystical.

Thanks for your support to always keep on going. I also appreciate your work very much.

Of all the astonishing (!) images in your portfolio, that one immediately caught my attention. It is dark, mighty, mysterious, haunting... A clear 7!
