Thought provoking combination of picture and wording....
Medieval knights marked their era with their doings , mostly as the iron hand of soft, lace covered backstage cosmic and spiritual leadership . The quest of enlightening in many occasions did not succeed (even if it had, occasionally, the size of a light house) . I find the presence of the rooted tree  irrelevant to the story as the title suggests it. As a balancing object for the image composition  might be an accepted element, but I am sure you have a story to back up the necessity of the tree being there, Petraki!

Hristaki, file mou!

I don't have any explanation for the tree being there! It was just there when I came to the idea of putting the bulb on the arch instead of the phone!

I could have removed it, what would have left! Besides, romantic veil upon the knights it may be! Aesthetic balance it sure is!

Thank you for your comment

An excellent addition, I like particularly the way in which the shadow of the tree gives birth to the horse and rider ..

all surreal works beyond their colour and design evoke a reaction in the viewer .. in this case what intrigues me is not the presence of the light so much as the fact that it is floating .. that in itself can lead to a variety of interpretations.

That's what the bulb is meant for, Stephanie!

He was never meant to find it in the real sense of the word!

Thanks for dropping by

Brilliant and enlightening work! So, Holy Grail was just a bulb? I love how you treated the shadows and how you presented the elements.

Pierre, we have at least two things in common : The French language and photography!  .. I think you are a great artist! ... but most importantly  .. at heart!  .  Keep on making great images my friend.  :-)

I only have a couple French classes (same goes for Spanish) and English is not my primary language either. However, it's my most comfortable language! :-)

Vlad, welcome my friend!

It is not the Holy grail, it's the Arch of the covenant! The lamp is the enlightening bulb, ha! I have mixed something up! Never mind since you like it!

Thank you for your precious visit and as well precious comment!

Mysterious Mr Tm J,

Accept my own mysteriousness, my primary language isn't French as well as my name isn't Dumas! Pierre is my real name, but not in the French version!
And English is my filth language in order of appearance in my knowledge! French is my third! And when I almost got to speak it pretty good I switched to the most comfortable, as you said!

Thank you for revealing your identity, piece by piece, ha! And not to forget your very likeable compliments which I appreciate very much!

Where have you been all this time?

Thank you for loving my knight, I'm sending you my love in return!

Cheers to that!

The difference in perspective caused by the "close up" of the light bulb coupled with the distinct shadows from a cloudy sky makes this image. The surrealism is both strong and subtle. I tip my 10.5 mm hat to you!
