A Slice of Bread

I was at an American Revolutionary War reenactment preparing to

photograph other foods and bowls on a table when suddenly one of the

reenact ors came up and started slicing the chunk of bread. It was

frame/focus/shoot in a matter of 2 or 3 seconds - truly a grab shot using

my 105mm macro lens. Comments/suggestions appreciated.

I love the photograph and applaud you a quick thinking capture. This isn't a critique, because I understand you didn't have time to frame. But those are a great pair of hands and I would love to see more of them. Good eye catching image.

I like this a lot. Every aspect of the scene works well together, the diagonal positioning of bread/knife the wooden cutting board and most important the callused and well used hand even the old fashioned bread adds to the feel.

You have good eye for noticing the opportunity.

Mark and Andy - Thank you both for your comments. It was the hand that grabbed my attention also..the way they look so used and large beside the bread. I was a bit concerned that it might look out-of-proportion or the finger at the end of the knife look weirdly detached to people.
