The photo can be increased in size by double clicking. As a silver print, I

tried to copy it as accurately as possible. Seen near the Atlantic shore

where the salt air shortens the life of trees like these.

Nice shot.  Because most of the trees are originating from a higher point, I think the trees would receive more emphasis if some of the bottom were cropped (just below the nearest trees).

Stephen, thank you commenting and a good point. The denatured aspect of the dead trees might be made stronger by that cropping. If I were to photograph them again, I might even do well to separate the trees from the ground and foliage altogether and concentrate only on the form of the branches. Not sure what species they were, but they have a form similar to my older apple trees in winter.

 

Alas, I live about 2000 miles from the site and my favorite IR sensitive B&W film, Konica 750nm, doesn't exist anymore. Of course, those are only mild obstacles to trying something similar again. I would like sometime to do a series on trees at the end of their lives.
