Taken this afternoon in LaPrairie Quebec. Late afternoon: 70-300mm Nikkor VR on.

Effective temperature -30; Wind about 60Kp.h.  What you see is not mist or fog, it is snow being whipped about by the strong winds. What looks like a bird is not - they are smarter than me.

Perhaps I could have titled this "Burning Fingers - Freezing Winds".

Empty benches seem to have stories to tell.  This one may say more about the photographer than the subject.  The light really does work well leading into the bench, and I really like the composition.  Congratulations from Santa Barbara ( 62 deg. F with wind chill).  Phil

I can feel the chill in my bones! The mood is well conveyed. Sunny yet -30! Here (Trivandrum, India) also it's sunny and 30, but deg. C and on the other side of zero!

This is fantastic…. I love the overall simplicity of the composition that leaves the eye free to wander the diagonals of frozen drifts dusted  by blowing snow. What draws my eye to the top of the photo is the lure of the warm gold tones leading me ever farther from the icy white chill of winter. My eyes seek sun on warm sand. Will I find it just beyond the edge?
