Large view available. This weekend in Vancouver was unique. It

snowed in the city. Little did that sop me from getting in a drenching

walk in Stanley Park. Many others were similarly inclined. Although,

not a terrific artistic image, this does capture the mood of the morning.

This could also be in the "Street" category. Thanks for your

comments. Larry

I don't think I've ever seen a photograph that so successfully captures the nature of winter in the western portion of the Pacific Northwest (including British Columbia).  This is probably snow, and that really helps to make it visible in the photograph.  All of the umbrellas on a curving path with a deep forest in the background complete the scene.  Very nicely done.

I fully agree with Stephen. Depth, curve, human interest, darker trees leading away to a lighter shade further enhancing that sense of depth. Even the humans in the distance enhance this superb image. Congrats.

I beg to differ about it not being an 'artistic image'.  I think you've captured a fantastic feeling and mood.....not easy to do.  If this were mine, I think I'd crop a titch off the bottom and left.  It would still retain the curvature to the walkway, but it would put the umbrellas and people a little closer in view.  Of course, it's a purely personal decision, and I love it this way as well.

Sdtephen and Tony,  Thanks for ringing in on these Stanley Park images.  Considering your comments, I prefer this one too.   Larry

Christal,  Thanks for your visit.  I appreciate your setting me straight on the this image being artisitc.   When I took it, I was mostly interested in capturing the miserable weather and all the people enjoying the walk - as I was - in spite of getting quite wet.  I was also a bit concerned about keeping my camera dry as I moved it in and out of my pocket.   You all have helped me apprciate this capture.  Thanks.  Larry

hi Larrry_ Not Artistic? _ The beautiful long curved walkway, the soft low & dark tones, the falling snow, the umbrella carrying walkers create a sombre mood for most people, but, visually a very attractive image with beautiful lines, a pleasure to view.Larry a very, very good image, if it was mine,I would be delighted with this image. Best Regards-Ross
