Wow, I really like this. The reflection looks great. Did you happen to take this same picture in a horizontal format? For some reason the vertical composition looks cramped. I think a horizontal comp. would give it a more wide open western feel to it. Keep up the good work.

I'll check my slides this week. I believe this was my best shot. I "may" have a horizontal but if so, I think it was not quite as good. Again, I'll take another peek and if I do have one, I'll post it. This was "the" photo that made me say "I LOVE shooting good slide film!" :)

I agree with Doug. I should. He's a darn good photographer and knows his stuff. I too feel a little squeezed in by the vertical composition, kinda like I'm looking through a doorway or something.

This is a pretty scene, though, and you did a wonderful job of capturing the tranquility of this very pastoral scene. I think I'm gonna take a nap now, I'm so relaxed........

OK, I'm awake now and I guess I better finish my comments. I like the colors, like the trees, the water and the mountains. I think the lighting is a little bit flat because it's hard to pick out the details on the mountainside. Lower light, and more to one side would have created shadows that enhance the texture of those distant rocks, but I guess it's pretty hard to move the sun across the sky, isn't it? One other minor thing kinda bothers me, and that's the dark shadow at bottom center. I keep looking at it and trying to figure out what it is and I know it's not an essential part of the composition.

Even though I'm critiquing the heck out of this photo, the image makes me want to visit this place for another, longer, nap.

Over and out©,
