larry_mobbs 11 Posted September 2, 2003 This has some of my favorite components, fog, shadows and backlighting. My photos, however, never achieve the delicacy of this image. Love the simplicity and composition. I can imagine that this opportunity disappeared very quickly. Good job to be there and capture it. Link to comment
patricia_eifel 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Fabulous light and excellent composition. The two long shadows leading up to the trees are remarkable and really finish off this composition. Beautiful spring or autumn! Link to comment
andreas_weber1 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Extremely well done!!! Frame it!! No Velvia - what a pity.... Link to comment
alethea_hollis 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Well spotted, great composition, beautiful tones, who needs Velvia for such subtle colours, shadows make this shot a great one. Link to comment
idandan 0 Posted September 4, 2003 you did it . thank you for posting it here . great composition and lighting , what can i say . Link to comment
ajpn 0 Posted September 4, 2003 Personally, I think this is a beautiful composition and I gave it a 6/6, but it lacks a little punch that I think could be found with a simple level adjustment. PS- I'm thinking autumn, the trees are bare. Link to comment
daniel vinklars lefteye. 0 Posted September 4, 2003 very nice lightning... feels so fresh I as shaking with cold and wish to be there... Link to comment
gabi_mor 0 Posted September 4, 2003 i like this picture alot, it really puts me in a mood, like a pleasent dream... however, the bottom highlighted line in the grass is a bit distracting for my taste. how about cropping the bottom third ? really nice, keep em' comming ! Link to comment
greg_stone1 0 Posted September 4, 2003 Beutiful shot, I would consider cropping the the bottom shadow area out. Link to comment
margaret_s. 0 Posted September 4, 2003 This photo has terrific texture. I also love the 3D element. It has great depth and it's clear there are many layers to this photo visually. Nice job! Link to comment
mohr 0 Posted September 4, 2003 Yes, Cropping... I also thought about it. But when looking at the result, I found several reasons against it:- lose of the foreground- lose of the good placed diagonals (shadows)- lose of deepness (from dark to the light)- lose of the good position of the trees in the photo It's a typical 'three element picture' (trees, shadows, hills). By cropping, the photo will become a 'two element picture'. And 'two element pictures' are as usual not so interesting as a 'three element pictures'. They are more calm and abstract (silhouttes). Of course cropping is a possibilty but the result is another effect/message than in the photo above. So I let it as it is in the orginal colour slide. Link to comment
jeannette_villarreal 0 Posted September 4, 2003 I appreciate your arguement against cropping but IMO, cropping won't necessarily ruin the layers you created, in fact, it'll enhance the "interwoven" effect of the shadows. I'm a little distracted by that bottom portion. I don't think that element will make it lose dimension, if eliminated. Nice colors & comp. of everything else though! Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 5, 2003 Nice light, nice curves. And the intersection of the shadows and the furrows is of the best effect. Link to comment
veena_mehta 0 Posted September 5, 2003 This picture makes me think of two things...Bravo & Wow ! 7/7 ! Link to comment
stefanovandelli 0 Posted September 12, 2003 Excellent take. I love the long shadows as they make the ground look like a patch quilt, due to the intersecting lines. Although compositionally spottles I am somehow distracted by the darker line at the bottom of the frame and I would remove it. Link to comment
simonepellacani 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Bravo!Beautiful shot! There is only 1 thing distract me, the dark line at the bottom. Link to comment
ingeborg_histe 0 Posted November 5, 2003 beautiful, but i think a bit more space on the top would work better Link to comment
