Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted February 14, 2014 Anish, The Columbia Gorge certainly offers great photo opps, especially on waterfalls. I like the vertical composition. You also have managed the light well. A question that has been posed to me, is how much blur should there be in the water? Your image is appealing, but how would it look with a little less blur and a little more detail in the water? You may have different images with varying shutter speeds to examine this. I am not making a judgment here, just raising a useful question. Best to you. Larry Link to comment
anish 0 Posted February 14, 2014 Larry, thanks for the comment. I agree varying the shutter speed can have a significant impact on the look of flowing water, and thus impact the mood. In this case, I was actually limited by low light, use of the polarizer and small aperture. 1/2 sec was about the fastest I could go. It did retain some texture, visible more on the lower right, which is about the amount I prefer. If I had gone much slower, it would've veered towards silky smooth, which I'm not a big fan of.Thanks again! Anish Link to comment
