jimmcnitt 0 Posted September 2, 2003 Hi Bente: This old house is not a place I'd want to store my cameras during a heavy downpour -- but it makes a wonderful subject. I think you've done exactly the right things by photograping it strong light, which brings out the beauty of its subtle color, and by presenting it in perfect perspective, which only drives home the state of disrepair. A strong and well-crafted image. Link to comment

magnus_wahlgren 0 Posted September 5, 2003 You've done a good job here. I am a bit surprised that the picture seems a tad soft close to the corners. Link to comment
the lone ranger 0 Posted September 5, 2003 the colors look more like a waterpainting than a photo. But the subject of decaying/decrepit buildings is the thing I've been really into lately. I don't shoot this type of work, but I love looking at this type of work. Link to comment
vincetylor 0 Posted September 5, 2003 I bet there are many that would love to paint this! Great eye! Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 6, 2003 Excellent exposure and frame. I like particularly the blue frame into the frame which highlight the house. Link to comment
ciofalo 0 Posted October 4, 2003 Why, this is a beauty!I came across it quite accidentally as I was surfing the site. It surely deserves the highest rates. I don't really have any suggestions, the photo is about perfect in its own genre. However, there is something slightly distracting in the white area in the top left corner - I suppose it is the wall of a taller building, but it is not clear why it extends so much to the right (perspective?). Perhaps some adjustment of tones and contrast in this region would make things clearer and avoid a small distraction. Link to comment
