chris_panagiotidis 0 Posted February 12, 2014 You ask for technique discussion on this submission and I will restrict to this. The hat seems to having been added in post editing ;it is at least three sizes smaller than what should be your proper size. If it is not a montage, humble apologies! If it is, kudos for the combined lighting issues handling. The paramount element on the picture though, is the pondering gaze outside of the frame~ the dark background( nice choice!) enhances the effect. kalispera file mou! Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 302 Posted February 12, 2014 Len, The black background was difficult to achieve and I had to do it because of the ugly environment, so I had to darken the whole photo and clean the whole background! Hemingway was two times mentioned on this page in a different connotation though! Thank you for your visit and comment of an expert portraitist! PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 302 Posted February 12, 2014 Yassou, Hristaki! I said technical quality and the size of the hat doesn't belong there! This guy has so big head that his cap number 5 in the army was too small for him and there was no larger size cap in that army! The fact that you don't know whether it's a montage or he's really wearing a hat indicates that it's a good montage! Efharisto poli, file mou! Kalinihta! Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted February 18, 2014 Well, I have always found balding men rather handsome. When I met my husband, over 23 years ago, he had very little hair. I had a crush on him 10 years before that and he had a beautiful full head of hair!! But when I started dating him, I did not notice the 'lacking' hair. Besides you still have a full head of hair.....you are just wearing it on the 'wrong side' :) Actually, I didn't care for James Bond, until he became more mature and was balding. I think Sean Connery was more handsome when he was balding. Not that I do not like hair, it is all in the personality of the man, and to me how he carries himself. It's amazing though really, as we get older we loose hair, and men still are able to grow beard!!! But if you feel better wearing a hat, do what makes you feel best!!! Either way, I am sure you are just as handsome! Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 302 Posted February 18, 2014 Dear Gail, This man is not bald, he has each and every single hair as when he was a charming boy! I maybe said somewhere above that he is covering his bald head with the hat, but he only has his hair shaven and doesn't cover it, I just thought he might be more attractive with a hat! Thank you for your thorough exposing of your attitude toward baldness of men which I appreciate very much! PDE Link to comment

Link to comment
