ye 0 Posted September 1, 2003 When I came to the nest - it appeared empty. It took quite a wait before eaglet showed up, obviously looking around for food. And after quite a while later ma (or pa) came along with the fish. Please, comment on all 3 shots in the folder. Link to comment
mpalmquist 0 Posted September 1, 2003 Those three little branches at the bottom ruin it for me. quality looks pretty bad, too much sharpening or it was FAR away and thus image scale was low? Link to comment
stephen fair 0 Posted September 1, 2003 Clone or crop out the odd twigs at the bottom, and perhaps the extra stump just to the left of the eagle, for a cleaner photo Link to comment
ye 0 Posted September 1, 2003 Mark, Stephen - thanks for comments. I took care of the branches below. My PS skills are pretty rudimentary, so I was afraid it won't come out clean. You are right Mark - it was shot too far away, and I had to blow it up. And yes, too much sharpening as a result. The only thing I can say in my defense, is that if you read a comment to one of the other photos in the folder - you'll get a witness testimony about the conditions. As far as your idea, Stephen, to remove extra stump on the left - I thought that this long stump and the eagle looking that way kind of give it interesting twist. Maybe I'm wrong, you be the judge. Anyway - I was hoping this is still interesting despite obvious problems. Link to comment
stephen fair 0 Posted September 4, 2003 I didn't mean the long stump, which makes this photo. I was refering to the ~1 foot odd lump just to the left of the eagle. I like this shot and it looks much better without those twigs. Link to comment
ye 0 Posted September 5, 2003 Eagle may look unhappy, but it's actually calm and resting after hunt and bringing fish to the eaglet (see other photos). It's just the angle. We often interpret certain animal's "face expression" based on what we know about our own... Animal behaviorists know - that does not work. Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted February 15, 2004 Crop this a little tighter might make it more "pleasing". I kinda like it this way, tho. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 9, 2005 I'm not sure what other crop you can make to this photo. Yuri obviously meant the direction of the bird's sight and the stretch of the branch. It looks very interesting to me. Link to comment
