louis1 0 Posted August 31, 2003 Early morning. This place dwarfed everything. All comments welcome. No ratings without comments PLEASE. I am quite happy if you have no comment if you just ignore the image. This may seem ungrateful but photonet removes images with ratings from their normal position in the listings once they get over 5-10 ratings. Possibly no-one might rate this image anyway, but that's OK. My sole interest in the site are the comments. I nearly always comment and rate myself. Thank you for your time and understanding. root 0 Posted September 1, 2003 This is good bordering on great. The three contrasting textures on the rock faces are very strong, the path provides depth, and the subject provides scale and a point of interest. My only concern is lack of separation between his head and the base of the rock. Wait for him to take a couple more steps and maybe back up a bit, and you've got it. Link to comment

louis1 0 Posted September 1, 2003 This was very early in the morning. There are 2 hotels in the small black bit at the bottom. In the gorge when you looked up to the top you fell over it was that steep and that high. We arrived the night before and after our meal the manager explained we had to go to bed as the generator was being switched off in 15 minutes. The next morning a friend was trying to get her contact lenses in by the light of her mobile phone (the generator wasn't on yet). However it was pitch black and by the time she got her lens ready to insert the mobile light went. Being a good scout I had a micro torch. The old man was a bit shocked seeing me on the road so early and practically broke into a run to get out of my way! I got one shot ! Louis Link to comment
root 0 Posted September 2, 2003 Understood . . . People always assume they're in the way unless you're clearly shooting right at them. Then they either like it or not. Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted September 2, 2003 Hi Louis! Seems to be similar, not strange since in this area there are many. I see that this one was IN the Atlas Mountains area (what for landscapes, uh?). But the Dades river that makes the Dades Gorges, is south of that mountains chain, west from Ouorzazate. Have you been there? Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Nestor I think it is the same place but my photo was from the outside of the gorge and yours is from the inside. Flip your image on the horizontal and you'll see what i mean. I may have the name wrong! Louis Link to comment
markplawchan 0 Posted September 5, 2003 Great example of using a figure to reveal scale..always a problem in landscape shots. Link to comment
davidweaverphoto 3 Posted December 12, 2003 I don't know if I can add to this. Great tones and another vote for adding a person to give it scale. Contrast is perfect for me. This must be a great loooking print. Any recommendations on where to stay in this area? Link to comment
