Back to the photo Dana, I have tried something similar on countless occasions, but never with success .. what I have not attempted as yet is with frontal lighting tor coming from the side as you have done, which greatly enhances the effect, this image inspires me to give it a try. Love the shot once again and my wife does too, maybe she is the reincarnation of Leni Riefenstahl ..

oh, what a petty world we live in .. : -)

When I saw the thumbnail (and subsequent full size image,) I was going to say that this type of image is a hit or a miss. I was going to go on to say that this is more of a miss than a hit. I have to say I really do like the hair and I do like the sense of fun. I am not so keen on the movement in the hands or left foot. I also think the framing is a little awkward.

Thanks for looking and commenting everyone.  I really appreciate the effort.

John.  I am glad you liked the shot.  To think that I inspired you in any way is a huge compliment.  I am glad your wife took a look and liked it as well.

Michael.  Thanks.  Another big compliment.  I think Halsman was right about people losing their self consciousness of the moment when they were jumping.

David.  Thanks for the critical look and comment.  I too think it has a sense of fun or abandon that I like.  I do agree with the comment on the blurriness of the left hand and foot and wish they were sharper.  I have to disagree with the framing comment since I like it but as you say opinions differ.  Thanks again for taking the time and for an honest appraisal.  I think that kind of critique is really helpful.

Raymond.  Thanks for the look and glad you liked it.  I am fond of the crop as well.

Maurizio.  Thanks.  Glad you like the composition.

Alberto.  Thanks for looking.  Glad you liked it.

Happy New Year Everyone.
