Curvaceous! That is what comes to mind with this wonderful image that has been carefully composed and captured. The light is deLIGHTful  - the curved shadows run in the opposite direction to the curved lines of the foreground bricks. It is the kind of image where I can stay, sip a red wine and tranquilly take it in.  Beer is OK also.

Hey Tony-

Thanks for the comments… loved them (and the humor). I have to admit to finding this on a pro-shoot scouting trip without my camera. I was looking for shadows and reflections… found this and a few other things, noted the time of day and came back 2 days later to photograph. It was a peaceful, purposeful experience. I'm glad someone else sees/feels what I did/do - I just sit back and "zen" into the photo.

Sandra,  Yes, Tony's comment is right on, no where near a curve ball.  This image is a wonderful example of how simplicity and common venues result in excellent photos.  Of course, this all depends on how you behind the camera sees and interprets the scene and you have done a spectacular job - you get highest marks in the creative department.  Does the agave in the photo place you in the Southwest?  Best to you, Sandra.  Larry

To Larry and Tony - Thank you for both of your comments.  And I do need to make a small but large correction. In my initial comment I typed "pro-shoot" when I intended to type "pre-photo shoot." @ Larry - this was shot in the J. Raulston Arboretum. I actually live in the Southeast - NC to be exact.  : )

I'm thinking flash was used here and to great effect too. Love the illumination and the light fall off through out. I too like the opposing shadows which creates a very nice abstract quality. Brava Sandra, Brava! This one is going into my favorites file :=D

Hi Raymond-  Thanks so much for your comments. Actually, no flash was used here. This was taken at J. C. Raulston Botanical Garden at NC State University.I had taken a camera-free walk-about  a couple of days prior to see what photos ops there were. When I saw this, I knew I had to come back at the same time of day to capture the sun angle and get the same dramatic shadows...and I did.
