A little off the beaten path for you but your mordant wit does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. The intricate composition works very well, the various elements working together seamlessly to produce a whimsically dramatic composition. Beautifully put together as always.

thanks so much jack. btw, i keep meaning to spend more time on photonet and catch up with all of the great photographers i admire so much, including certainly yourself. your comments are always wise and appreciated. on this one i should have included a bit of commentary to deflect any sense that the picture is anything but harrowing to me. i found (apparently) a grave in a forest near the mexican border (the chiricahuas in arizona), an area infamous for the tide of poor people risking death trying to get into the country. dozens die every year. i don't pretend to understand what exactly happened here, but the stuffed bunny, quickly hand-made cross and the spanish language votive candle seemed to tell a very sad story. i was having a wonderful time birding this sublime area, but finding this scene  i went from ecstatic to profoundly maudlin. (i have contrived a totally different background-- this shows the saguaro national park much further west). thanks jack!
