I would crop off the left 40% of image and a tad off of the right and top to eliminate most of the blown out areas. Still won't be a prize photo because tail is lopped off. But you had the right idea. Beautiful owl.

I think your Barred Owl here was sighted in my area not to long ago too!

Mine didn't have as nice a background as yours to make the Owl pop!

There was not enough distance between my subject and the background as you have obtained here.

I agree with Jim here, maybe crop out some of those blown-out areas, and if this is already a crop, . . . show some tail!
