Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted December 22, 2013 Alan, I like the composition and sense of expansiveness created by the big sky. i tinkered with the image and mainly removed the blue cast with auto white balance. This opened up the shadows too. I like the effect, what about you? Best to you. Larry Link to comment
AlanKlein 2,904 Posted December 22, 2013 Larry: Yes there was a blue tint. Thanks for taking it out. It also made the field easier to see details. Thnaks. Alan. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted December 23, 2013 I think Larry made some good edits. I like the reduced blue, sharper clouds, and especially the increased detail and color of the foreground. Link to comment
AlanKlein 2,904 Posted December 25, 2013 Stephen: Yes, Larry did a great job correcting my poor PP. What to you think about the shot itself after Larry's corrections? Pros and cons? Thanks. Alan Link to comment
tore 10 Posted January 7, 2014 the Clouds make a nice pattern in the sky, Lovely composition too. great work.Best regards Tore Link to comment
stp 6 Posted January 7, 2014 Alan, I think it's a good depiction of rural farm life in the flatlands. I like the division between land and sky you've chosen, and this amount of sky adds to the sense of vastness of the area. The relatively small steel buildings do the same. More foreground would not have added much, IMO, and probably would have been more of a distraction. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 261 Posted January 25, 2014 Although the rule of the two thirds isn't abode , I like this picture! The wide open space is what I like and less the look of the modern barns or whatever the houses are! Best regards, Alan! PDE P.S. The colors are much better on the second image on the page, that one Larry posted! More real, vivid and kind of revive the whole spectacle! Link to comment
AlanKlein 2,904 Posted January 25, 2014 I agree Larry's colors are much better. Thanks for your comments. Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted February 8, 2014 Irrespective of the changes made, which undoubtedly are very pleasing too, this is an interesting shot, primarily because of the predominance of the sky and the way in which it carries the scene so strongly almost on it's own, something really hard to do. A very beautiful shot, one which I am certain is still more impressing when seen in really large format. Truly, the inventor of nature had a lot of taste .. : -) Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted September 20, 2014 I like it, especially the cloud bank in the distance that looks like a range of mountains. The original has less detail, but I wonder if the grass was quite the hue that is shown in the new version. --Lannie Link to comment
AlanKlein 2,904 Posted September 21, 2014 Thanks Lannie for your comments. I liked the mountain illusion as well. The real colors were probably somewhere between the correct picture and the blue casted scan I need of the film. Link to comment
