neil_lupin 0 Posted August 29, 2003 you've metered the foreground well considering the sun, but yes the flare does somewhat ruin things. Link to comment
musubi1000 0 Posted August 29, 2003 The lens held up quite well for the most part. You can only do so much when shooting into the sun. the diffraction of the sun is a nice effect. Oh and by the way I didn't see any thong in the sunset. Link to comment
kaiblanke 1 Posted August 29, 2003 I thought that the multi-coated Minolta version of the Summicron would handle a situation like this, but unfortunately not so. Otherwise the Rokkor-M is a fantstic lens - if it could only handle the sun in the frame it would be great.Tak, this is a sunset - at 5pm with the sun still being quite high, but it was dark about half an hour later. But I am going to change the title for you: Sun over Thorong Pedi sounds better ?Neil, I broke my (external) meter a day before, so this was taken with guesstimating the exposure. It turned out quite well for this at my own astonishment. But the sunny 16 rule helps a lot down there (together with the "shady f5.6" rule) Link to comment
