In answer to your question, I feel that your landscape presentation may have produced a more appealing image in a portrait style.

You could have taken out the dark space to the left (it does nothing for the image) and included the step in the foreground and given the model a little headroom. She just looks a little "squashed".

Just my thoughts.

It seems a little too bla for a photo.  It seems like you was focusing not on the eyes, which a good photographer told me to do.  I also agree with the above that it would of been better as a portrait rather than a landscape type photo.  The shoulder straps off of the shoulders seems a little like you were trying to get her to be sexy, but you need the eyes to be focused to pull the look off.  This all JMHO.  Gypsy Girl is much better done.

I agree that a portrait orientation would probably have worked better.  The lighting is difficult, and much or her person is relatively dark.  You're also getting pretty close to the top of her head.
