sjmurray 34,126 Posted August 27, 2003 Nice shot. Beautiful tonal range and rendering of clouds and texture on the slate. May I ask what developer you used. I just got some TMax 100 4x5 and haven't played around with it much yet. Link to comment
uk 0 Posted August 27, 2003 Generally I use Rodinal 1:50 for convenience. Have done film tests and recently started using green safelight filter to check progress of image towards the expiry of the development time. 5x4's are dish processed. Link to comment
pdoyle 0 Posted August 27, 2003 Very dramatic, great texture. I bet the print looks even better in person. Nice work. Link to comment

robertbrown 1 Posted December 17, 2003 Gary, you have a terrific landscape portfolio--lots of great imagery. I prefer to shoot black and white and print in my darkroom, so I'm drawn to shots like this. I like moody, dark landscapes, and this is just right. I have a Scotland and Ireland folder--there's a dolman shot similar to yours. I hope to visit some of your other folders later. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 19, 2006 The light on the slate is lovely, and the composition is very strong. A bit too dark for my taste. Link to comment
