The morning started like this and there were so many wonderful opportunities and my biggest fear that I would be in the wrong place to get something really nice.

The image really conveys what it must have felt like to have been there. Nice leading line to the sunrise formed by the lakeshore.

I could see this being just a bit brighter but that's just one opinion.  I wouldn't want to lose the pre-dawn feeling. It would be good if you could clone or crop out that bit of orphaned vegetation on the left side at the ridge line.

Dave - thanks for your visit and constructive critique.

I had thoughts about brightening it and for the reasons you mentioned, I would  be destroying the mood and the reality based on my memory. I totally agree with cloning out the 'upper' brush on the left side of the image.

By waking along the sand on the right side and a few minutes later, I took a 2nd shot which is much brighter and I will load it in the recent folder sometime today.

I have edited it as per your suggestions. During my recent time off from PN, I took a tutorial on working in Lab mode and channels and i used it here. It allowed me to lighten without affecting the saturation level of the colors - I think.

That looks great, Tony, but the amount of lightness is certainly the artist's decision to make. I could see it either way but I will say that your PS tutorial work certainly paid dividends.
