Very beautiful light and color. A very meditative piece but I think it would be more so without the front twig. Of course, that is just my own personal (and very humble) opinion. This to me, without the twig, is a piece in which I could just get lost and unwind. Very beautiful work Tony! Thank you for sharing. :)

A nice minimalist image. I agree with Trisha though, this would work just as well, if not better, without the front twig. Either that or clone a few more of them ;-)

My thanks. When I do this type  of image I usually like to have a single point where the eye can rest because that area is well focused.  I have removed the single 'reed' for your perusal and to see how comfortable i am with the revised version.

Thank you Tony! I much prefer this one; it's so restful to my eye and mind! Of course, it is your work, and your photo, and you are the artist and this photo should be what you want it to be! That said, I'd hang this on my wall and look at it often... And long! Beautiful! :)k

I see what you're saying, Tony, but perhaps it's the color of the in-focus blade that I find distracting. Maybe if it was blue/cyan then it would be better. Just a thought...

Tony the updated version is better but there's something to what the last poster said that rings true. If the black reed was blue it could be a difference maker. Tough call. Great image either way my friend. Take care.

Trisha - I appreciate the strong vote of support on the revised version.

Dave and Holger: The blade of grass is actually  dark green and my initial attempts to lighten it ended up with artistic and technical compromises in other parts of the image. I tried 4 different techniques (shadow/Highlight, Levels and selecting the blade of grass, "layer and vector mask))  and I was not happy with the results. This is why I submitted the original and why, subsequently,  I was willing to clone it out.

All the best and thank you for your constructive critiques.
