Criticism: There is too much light in the upper right quadrant and you have lost some detail from the log texture there. Presumably you had to shoot into the light. Closing down a couple of stops and using fill-flash to bring the main subject back may be worth trying. Suggestion: The colour palette is muted. Try changing the scan to black and white and see how it works like that. Link to comment
ryanlee 0 Posted August 29, 2003 Thanks Richard.. Yes the upper right quadrant's a bit overexposed. I think what I really should have done was bracket it a stop or two or exposed it shorter. The main reason I gave it a longer exposure was to show up some interior of the log- I didn't use fill-flash because I didn't want to entirely flush out all the shadow in the interior. I agree the colour palette's muted. I'll give it a black & white scan sometime, that's probably a good idea :) Cheers! Link to comment
