very visually attractive.  The background looks dramatic, yet softened with colourful patches.  Deep foregrounds can be tricky, especially when relatively empty like in this photo, yet the paterns in the sand and the occasional floating leaves hold attention.  Dude, do you have a life except for photography?  Wikipedia entry for "photography machine" = "Tom Hadley".  Cheers (V8), Micheal

Superb landscape and result from position you had.I like all here,bg with mountain and clouds, middle with reflection and clear water-sand in foreground, not to forget those leaves at right moment there.Amusing above comment about your life and photography, yes I can say photography is an important part of my life too.

Micheal  - thanks for your visit and telling me all of the things you like about the image. My late mother said something strange which took me a while to understand: " if you want something done, give it to someone who is busy". Yup _ I am busy with photography but I have many other interests which keep me very busy.  Not quite sure why the the big interest in photography but I do have a theory. Good to hear from you and I will have a V8 for us both.

Radu - I see that you are in the same boat as me and hopefully it is not the Titanic. Thanks aslo for your comments.

Richard - good that you are back and i also appreciate your visit and comments.

Slavomir - it has been a while - thanks also for your comment.

I love this image and wish that I could view larger so as to see the mountains closer up.  Very pleasing mix of greens, orange and purple on the mountain range.

Having so much foreground for some reason works well.  Did you have your feet in the water perhaps ?  Was is warm ?

Warm regards

Jim

JIM - thanks for your supportive critique. I was at the water's edge or maybe slightly in. I found this scene appealing to me so I 'worked it' with several permutations.  I have one where the sky is dominant (see the B&W version). This one does not have much of the sky and that, IMHO, transmits a certain tranquility. I don't make my images larger than this but sometimes I make an exception. I am finding too many of my images being used commercially and non-commercially without my permission.

All the very best,

PS If I ever get to be at this location again, I will do a panorama.

Neil - Good to hear from you. Thanks for your strong support. When I am in locations like this I can usually hundreds of images on a daily basis. This was taken back in 2009 and I realized that I had never shared it.

PS I have to pop over to that 'other site' to see your new images.

Glad you shared this shot. Very eye catching and great composition. I actually like the leaves etc in the fore ground as it adds a sense of scale to the shot. Great tones in all areas of the shot. Best wishes William.

As always! Not to repeat may sayings about awaiting the right moment, weather and time and first of all selecting the spectacle, composing, that is! Bravo, Tony!

Best regards

Most has been said but this an excellent presentation.  The slightly ominous cloud at the upper left, seen colliding with the mountain would have made an interesting subject all on it's own.  Well done...  Mike
