Magnificent!  The concentration is evident on the faces of both dogs.  And what fun this must be!  If ever a photograph made me smile in the early morning, this one is it!

Very good capture at it's peak. I really like the completely expressions on both dogs. All the water spray adds a great deal to the photo

I assume this was meant to be a somewhat humorous montage.  Especially when viewing it large, it looks like the airborne Lab is in front and is in sharp focus, but the focus is also sharpest behind the dog in the water.  For me it would work better using images where the plane of focus looks more the same.  Still an interesting and fun picture.  Never seen one quite like it.:)

Hi Scott.

This is NOT a montage! You can clearly see the eruption where Astro has left the water behind. There is no way I would have to fake that.

I was testing continuous AF on the Olympus E-M1 and this was the first of a burst taking them right up to me.

Thanks to you who have commented, Cheers,

Don

PS the bitch won, as usual!

Ok.  Great!:)  I guess I am blind or stupid, but I just can't wrap my head around it.  So the dog in the air jumped out of the water from several feet behind the dog in the water and is now in front of the dog swimming?

After looking at the regular small version on my laptop, I finally get it.  Looking at the large on my pc I guess there's just an optical illusion that makes the dog in the air look farther forward than he really is.
