This picture was taken during an Old Cars Rally, in Ica, Perú. I have

been playing with textures and blending modes, to give it a vintage

look. Any comments would be appreciated!

Complimenti, sei veramente molto brava! p.s.: posso continuare a scriverti in Italiano?

Ciau Marizio.  I have undestood everything you have written, but the problem is to write the italian, so I am going to answer in English.  I want to thank your comments always so kind, and I agree that the sepia increases the vintage effect.

Rosario.

Hi Rosario,

A marvelous capture. It is a wonderful experience to see such a showing of such nice cars.

This image takes me back to the film days, when I would process B&W with or without dyes like Sepia tones for my clients or my family.

Best Regards, Mike

Thank you very much for your comments, Mike.  You are right, the sepia makes us evoke the past.

Kind Regards,

Rosario.

Marvelous this is... Great job on the vintage look! I particularly like the way you've developed the 'foxing', the rust colored degradation from unarchival paper. May I ask how you achieved this look?

Hi Raymond.  The background I used, was in this case, the back cover of an old book (which once was white). Lately, I like to take photos to use as textures, but sometimes, I download them from Internet  "Lost and Taken" is a good place,  but the textures do not have the quality of RAW images I take. I've just learned to add textures to photographs, following the tutorial: Adding Textures to Flower Photos by Harold Davis.

Thank you very much for your comments.

Kind Regards,

Rosario.

Thank You Rosario for the link to the detailed description of the process. I often use textures and other imagery in the backgrounds of my figurative work and I too shoot them myself. I use a different method though. I use layer masks and 'simply' remove the areas that I want the textures to show through.

Salve, Raymond
