 I think it would look better on a white background by opening up the tones of your subjects.  The background reminds me of a dark tunnel as if they are in hiding.  The snapshot quality of this captures realness of the moment and has a lot of charm as a record shot.  Each face tells its' own little story.  I like it a lot.
