the soft focus is wonderful and with the gentle hues one feels the warmth of the scene. I don't mind the soft hay stack... but the slightly off-center flower truncated at the base seems, compositionally, a bit limiting. it's angle towards the sun is very nice... but I might have considered placing the flower a bit more to the left? not sure.. that would have overly weighted the shot on the left... but, with its dramatic tone against the darker hay? might have been cool. as is, my eye jumps about flower to sun to stack and again.. then to the somewhat distracting urban background. for such a smooth scene, a less jumpy composition would have served better (i feel). it's a great mood shot and you should be proud. for the dark bottom of the stack, perhaps a reflector (golden) would have given it just the illumination to balance the scene. very nice job sarah, pete

I like this - it's different because the flower is the only thing in sharp focus. If everything had been sharp, I don't think it would be as effective.
