Bald Eagle (Second Edition)

Submitted a second time after minor cropping in PS to improve

composition. Unsharp mask was added @0.3+100 and auto levels to

reduce the reds.

Phew, what detail! Contrast and range are very well-done.

I like the backgorund being dark alot. Great detail in the eagle, Especially in the eye.

Great shot. Nice focus (the eyes are sharp) and use of light.

 

I assume this was in a zoo. If not, then you would have gotten a higher rating.

Yeah it was in a Zoo, you can actually see the fence shadow on the eagle's head if you look hard enough lol Anyhow, it turned out to be an interesting shot. I used a 200mm zoom and a Sunpack flash. The lens was @200mm. Film was Fuji 400 if I remember correctly.

Oh, I love Photoshop! I think post production is just as important after the shot is taken. In this case the detail has been retained and the end product is excellent.

Simon, Colour correction here should only have been done to satisfy your personal preference as either shot is a winner. Very bold! Very dramatic! Excellent head shot of this predator. Best, LM.
