I like the idea ( and good eye), Amy. & I like the various lines in the comp too. It's quite subtle. In fact, it is so subtle that the effect ( for me at least ) practically comes across as a clever afterthought.

If you had intended the photo primarily to be interpreted as a billboard feature -- somehow located in the middle of nowhere -- I think you succeeded well at that. However, the composition may not contain 'enough' here (for me), to keep my interest in the long run, i fear....

If you meant the plane to be seen as if flying in the sky, I think the POV (maybe) could have been improved, as the composition -- as is -- feels a tad busy to me.... (but perhaps a cut off on top and possibly the LHS...?)

I now sense the tiny plane is kind of dangling like a Christmas ornament in a field of trees....

(but this might have been the effect that you were after :-)

At any rate, it's a clever capture.

What a great eye, Amy! It took me a bit to find the airplane but it was worth finding. It is good to make the viewer work a little at time. Nice work!

Thanks for looking and sharing your thoughts and crop suggestions. Looking at it with my trusty mat-board corners, I'm  not sure I will change it.

I wondered if the composition was a bit too centered at the time and  I actually walked around for different perspective a bit before I finally settled on this one.  I like the bit of searching required to see the airplane, I'm thinking cropping it too much closer might lose the visual puzzle.

Like you, Marjolein, I'm not sure this one will stay interesting over the long haul, but the scene just kept on staring me in the face and it's one I just had to shoot. :-)

Thanks, everyone for the interesting responses.

Amy

Searching! You had me hunting... and I had a delightful time doing it. No, I guess this cannot be cropped. I quite like the pov.
