cmouli 0 Posted September 22, 2013 High above "Aiguille du Midi" in Chamonix, I noticed a cross country skier heading his way past a fork in the packed snow field. His lone presence in the otherwise empty snow field was an interesting scene. Viewed from the base of the town of Chamonix, the peak is tapered and it is around noon when the sun passes over the summit. The name, "Aiguille du Midi" translates literally as "Needle of the Noon" or "Needle of the South". Link to comment
