michel_bekaert 0 Posted August 21, 2003 I like the composition, the expressiveness of the child and the technique. Just one point : the white hair on the sweater is disturbing, as it takes the attention away from the face... Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted August 21, 2003 Nice and tight. I like that. Nice and sharp. Like that too. Good detail. A little too light in the face, but still very good Link to comment
matt_l.1 0 Posted August 21, 2003 I really dislike the high contrast - though i suppose you could get away with a little bit less. There simply is no detail (on my computer) on the cheeks and is just awash. Also, the chin blends right into the shirt. Simply too much for this viewer. Otherwise the framing, the eyes, the expression etc. are all wonderful. Was this extreme contrast intentional? Link to comment
miroslav_bradic 0 Posted August 22, 2003 Tnx for the comments so much! About the intention of high contrast. My way of work is not what would you call "scientific". I have some patterns of curves in photoshop that I know that works. I try some of them and when I get the tonality close to that I have expected, I go for the fine-tuning (trying all possible kind of things that come to my head in that moment) until I get the image that I like. So probably the ones answer is "half intended". I intended to get the "sunny" mood in the picture, but I didn't intend to lose the texture of the skin. Same goes for the hair - it was there when I took the pisture, so I dodn't consider it as a disturbance. So, tnx again for very usefull comments and for me it's a "back to PS" situation. Let's see about version 2 :) Link to comment
