Were it not for the sincere & sober expressions on these 'Budding Ballerinas"  I would not have considered posting this  technically challenged image.  Gotta get me a camera which will excel in dim lighting.  Sometimes "your camera DOES matter"  :-)  Best, LM.

Marvelous and undoubtedly worthy of sharing, techinicalities notwithstanding. The composition is fine, your young princesses stars in the making with their engrossed, thoughtful expressions and parallel poses. The color palette is beautiful, the light colors mirrorong the light shade of their dresses. Yes...

The blond one looks like being ashamed or offended and the brown one something like interested in something else or posing as she is! Cute scene as I already said!

Best regards, Len

Really a nice double portrait, Len. The girls' poses, attitude and expressions establish them as individual characters while the drawings on the wall give us a nice sense of place without being intrusive.

Now there is a black and white photo and colorful also. While I strive for technical excellence, I truly believe that if the image is important enough in its content combined with a lack of opportunity to repeat, to heck with the 'technical challenges' and use your imagination to fill in possible 'blanks'.  This is a worthwhile image to share in a world where we seem to make differences so divisive. It reminds of a star trek episode where the inhabitants of a planet were made up 2 kinds of people: one where the left side was black and the right side was white and the other race was reversed. I guess you know what happened.

Congrats!

A beautiful and lovely shot, Len!

Thanks for your thoughtful comment.  The girls were actually receiving instructions from their teacher & attempting to follow them.  My position was fixed and so all I could rely on was the zoom lens.  Best, LM.

No, she's done nothing wrong. She's concentrating.  Just trying to mimic her teacher.  'Cute' is my reason for posting. :-) Thanks for your thoughts.  Best, LM.

Always good to get your take on my images.  Can't disagree with your comment.  The sweetie on the left is my granddaughter so I have a personal stake in this shot.  Best, LM.

Back in the 60's I was a big fan of Star Trek.  Still am, but to a lesser degree now.  I well remember the episode you refer to.  It made many feel foolish for commonly held & superficial views of others who were not exactly replicas of ourselves.  True, the content of the image trumps the technical excellence but it would be nice once in a while to get it all in one package.  Pipe dream?  Maybe, but I suspect that's what we are all aiming for here.  Thanks for taking the time.  Your visits are always appreciated.  Best, LM.

Thanks for your insight.  I can always count on you to put a positive spin on my posts.   As I said, content trumps technicality.  (but one can't get away with this excuse forever.)  :-)  Best, LM.

Not an easy  situation, and very well executed!  Black, white and  rose, needs a great skilles to expose it right!

I like the standing /dancing pose, the clarity of the whole , and  the serenity expression of both.Real nice result ,Len

My camera position was fixed.  Couldn't move around.  All I had was my trusty P&S and rather dim flourescent lighting.  Pushed to the limit with everything.  Still, a keeper for the family album.  Girl on the left is my 4 yr. old granddaughter. Many thanks for your interest.  Best, LM.

Len,

I like the way the two girls are looking in different directions and not at the photographer. You have really captured a  fine spontaneous shot! As usual, you framed it perfectly.  Greg

Luck is good!  :-)  Actually this is a very tight crop from the original P&S file but I thought the expressions were worth posting.  Nice to have you in the loop again.  Best, LM.

Very sweet candid shot!

Thanks for that observation.  One of the rare times I've seen these kids with serious expressions.  They're usually quite bubbly, bordering on silliness.  :-) Best, LM.

Agree with you on both counts. The photo IS technically challenged. But the expressions (along with the gestures) you manage to capture are priceless and it would have been  selfish to keep this only to yourself. Thank you for sharing. compliments -koushik

Thanks for your views.  They are always welcome.  The 'mood' portrayed and the expressions were the motivation for this post.  Hopefully future posts will exhibit fewer technical challenges.  Best, LM.
