Taken with a cheap webcam. REsolution is poor, but I love this portrait... I am not sure why. Modified a little in PS. Original photo also given next.

The composition is unconventional but, in my opinion, it works. Needless to say, there is too much of a problem with the blur... Since I do not think your friend has run away, why not trying to redo this shot with a better camera?
