Well, it has been a while since I've been on PN.  I was pleased to see that one of my favorite photographers is still posting great photos. Wow, never tried a "zoom technique." Any suggestions how or if I could do that with my Canon Power Shot. It looks like a layered image.  I think that is what I enjoy doing the most: combining a photo with a fractal. Yes, still enjoying the Math World of images. Just love the unexpected nature of the process.

Glad to be back,

I glad you are back since i wondered what you had been doing from an image perspective. It has been long time since I have done any math images. Perhaps I should go back to it and try what you suggested.

The zoom technique is an old one and I don't see how you can do it with a powershot. In essence, I zoom during the exposure but you need to get an exposure of at least 2 seconds. I have been refining that technique a bit and the result is like a layer mask post processing but it is all achieved 'in camera'. It is a little unpredictable but thankfully we are in the digital age so it is easy to delete what you don't want.

All the very best,
