Love to hear what you think. Please feel free to leave a comment.

My only wish here with this shot is that I was faster or should I say better

with my trigger finger (slower)?? I missed the top of the wings but I like it

anyway. The original is cropped a bit under the Raptor as I had too much

water in the shot .

Jill, I like it too.  Your photo is nice and sharp and shows lots of action.  Yes, it would have been nice to capture the wingspan, but these guys don't sit and pose for you.  Good work!

Wonderful capture, I don't mind the loss of the wings, it draws attention to the bird's head and claws a lot more without their presence. One slight disappointment for me is how much the tail feathers blend into the water behind; the shape of the silhouette is lost a bit as a result. That might be slightly adjustible in post if you were to darken the water or increase the contrast in that area a touch perhaps. There may also be a stronger crop in the image somewhere; given you've not got the whole bird I think it wouldn't hurt to crop tighter still, perhaps losing a bit of the left side to return it to a 3:2 image.

Altogether I do like it as a photo as it has a huge amount going for it.  Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Mark Mobley for the great critique. I am going to see what I can do with the crop and tail who knows... great advice.

I really like the POV Jill. Your focus is excellent as is the colour and light. You really captured it honing in on it's prey!!! Nice work!
