This picture is special, Stephen.  These pines between the fog, confer a poetic sense.  The trees on the right serve to give a touch of reality and balance the composition.

I was visiting Mount Rainier last year (a long journey from South America), but I did not get to see a landscape like this one!

Beautiful!

Regards,

Rosario.

Stephen- A beautiful visual image, Have been sitting here enjoying this fine image, the fog shrouded evergreens, the still waters conveying to me a feeling of quietness & stillness & you feel this is a remote location & this scene will be here long time after we are gone. Congratulations on this fine capture Best Regards-Ross

Thanks to everyone for your visits and comments - they are much appreciated.  Shortly after this photo was taken, I had open heart surgery, and two weeks later was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  I've not been able to enjoy photography much since then, but I'm hoping to do a bit more this spring.

I am so sorry Stephen!...

Medicine has advanced a lot lately.  I sincerely hope that everything  goes well, you just need courage and bravery to face you a long way.

Here you have a Maori proverb that I like very much:

"Turn your face to the sun  and the shadows fall behind you"

A big huh!

My favorite of your recent images Stephen, (no time to comment on them all!).  Very lovely and calming mood indeed.

And - best wishes as you recover your health in the coming weeks and months.  Spring is just the time for renewal and peace with the world.

Stephen, first of all, let me wish you the very best health-wise.  I do hope that you are are well on the road to a full recovery on both fronts.  Please keep me posted, as you are a special person to me.

This image is simply a vintage photograph for you, and you do it so well--composition, exposure, processing, and so forth.  I think it is truly a fine example of your photographic technique and is so incredibly representative of the habitats you frequent and live in.  It is your photography that has continually convinced me that I need to spend some time up in the PNW and work a camera and tripod hard up there for a while and see what kind of trouble I can get into.

Stay in touch, old friend!  Cheers!  Chris
